Torgur

Turgor is the cell tension that comes about when the cell in a plant has got enough liquid in it. If the cells do not have the necessary amount of liquid in them they become flaccid and the plant wilts. Applies to some bar patrons as well.
Thanks to George, a guest on the ship, for the name.

Torgur
1.5 oz Spiced Rum
4 oz Apple Juice
2 oz Cranberry Juice
Ground Nutmeg
Lime Wedge

Shake with ice and strain into an ice-filled highball glass.
Garnish with an orange half wheel.

The Caldera

1.5 oz Bailey’s Irish Cream
0.5 tsp Aztec Spices
Hot Chocolate

Stir together in an Irish Coffee Glass.

After a cold morning taking photos on a Zodiac in Antarctica, this drink will warm you up from the inside. Created one day for a lady customer who was having a birthday, it turns out she loved vulcanology so the name was a perfect fit!

Aztec Spice Mix

1 part chili powder
1 part ground ginger
1 part ground nutmeg
2 parts ground cinnamon

I would make this for customers coming back onto the ship after a particularly cold excursion. Especially on the swimming days. When people go for a swim in the Antarctic Ocean, they really want a tasty warm up. This is also an ingredient in my Caldera drink, which I will post later. A great mix to add to coffee and hot chocolate drinks. Also super tasty in oatmeal and porridge in the morning. Fire it up!
